Getting an impressive start from Mark Erwin, Minnesota beat Irving by the score of 3-1. With the win, the Loons improved to 37-37.

It could have been a different outcome for Minnesota, had it not been for Paul Sanders, the 22-year old shortstop . Sanders contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Minnesota up, 3-1.
