Akron Blimps starter Buzzy Grossman pitched a strong game against the Atlantic City Sonics at Goodyear Hanger Dome, leading the Blimps to a 5-4 win. Vicente López closed the door for Akron, picking up his 2nd save of the year. Akron has now won 3 in a row.

Tied up with the Sonics in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Blimps got a boost from catcher Yu-bao Wie. With the bases empty, Wie saw a 1-2 curveball from Malcolm Bullard and hit a solo home run to break the stalemate and put Akron on top, 5-4.

In comments to the Akron Gazette, Wie admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
