Farmers Prevail, 8-6, Over Casper
|
The Lancaster Farmers topped the Casper Ghosts, 8-6, in USSL Double A action at Farmers Field. The player of the game was Lancaster pitcher and Dallas, Texas native Keith Lawrence. Lawrence, now 2-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 2 earned runs. Mike Dean notched his 6th save in 6 chances.
Making an impact for the home team was Jiro Miyake. In the bottom of the second, the 20-year old first baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 2-0, Farmers.
"We maximized our offense today," said Lancaster skipper Dylan Smith. "That makes everyone's life easier."
The 4th-place Farmers are now 33-27, the Ghosts 23-37.
