Blue Sox Turn Back Durham, 4-2

The Irving Blue Sox downed the Durham Rapiers, 4-2, at Blue Sox Ballpark. Mitchell Pate led the way, going 3-for-4 for Irving. Bob Bolen picked up the save, his 11th. Irving is now 22-37, while Durham is 33-26.
The Rapiers had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Blue Sox going into the bottom of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old third baseman Thomas Flyer came to the plate. Flyer hit a run-scoring single on a 0-2 cutter from Durham hurler Antony Durney. It was Flyer's 36th hit of the year.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Flyer, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
