Rapiers Get Past Minnesota for 6-5 Win
The Durham Rapiers bested the Minnesota Loons, 6-5, at Rapiers Ballpark. Lorenzo Ortíz was named player of the game. He went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Durham reliever Alex O'Dell picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Joe Smith took the loss. Durham is now 32-25, while Minnesota is 29-28.

The Rapiers were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when right fielder Rick Crockett turned a 0-2 splitter from Joe Smith into a 3-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Durham a thrilling 6-5 win.

"This joint was rocking," said Crockett.
