Minnesota right fielder Tobias Valencia had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 8-5, to Irving at Loony Bin. Valencia went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Bob Bolen recorded the save for Irving, his 9th of the season. The Blue Sox saw their record improve to 20-34.

Nick McGhee contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the sixth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a single. It was one at-bat that propelled Irving to the win.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Irving skipper Dave Lee.
