Getting a good performance from catcher Jong-yun Rhee, the Irving Blue Sox defeated the Akron Blimps, 7-5. Rhee was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Blue Sox. The Blue Sox move to 19-29 with the win, while the Blimps drop to 30-18.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Rhee hit a splitter from Wiley Washington for a 2-run home run. The Blue Sox, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
