Ohayashi has 3 hit night as Nationals Squeeze Past Asheville
|
The Ottawa Nationals beat the Asheville Highlanders, 8-7 at Nationals Park, in part due to first baseman Nobuhiko Ohayashi, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Ottawa is now riding a 3-game win streak.
In the bottom of the 8th, left fielder Sallvador Rebola gave Ottawa the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Nationals had been trailing 7-6, but the two-out double off Asheville pitcher António Morales changed that -- and Ottawa went on to win.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Ohayashi, "but we got it done."
