Atoms Fall Short, 6-5, at Billings
|
Bethesda got a terrific game from right fielder Reynaldo Pérez. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Billings, 6-5. Pérez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI. Billings reliever Félix Cordero picked up the win, upping his record to 7-2. Ruby Rhod absorbed the loss. The save was credited to Eliseo Fontirroig, his 5th.
Victor Miller aided the Billings cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the second baseman drove in one run.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Miller.
Billings now owns a record of 45-48.
