Rails Top Polar Bears Behind Podell, 5-1
|
Richland Rails starter Gary Podell turned in a top-notch performance against the Billings Polar Bears at Rails Ballpark. The result was a win for the Rails, 5-1. The Rails have an impressive 56-31 record.
Podell was effective against the Polar Bears, seldom allowing a hard-hit ball. The right-hander limited Billings to just 1 run on 4 hits over 8.2 innings.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Podell.
