Nationals Win Thriller, 3-2
|
The Ottawa Nationals gave their fans something to talk about with a thrilling, walk-off win.
Ottawa left-hander Manu Jortikka helped his team edge Barton Springs by the score of 3-2. Jortikka kept the opposing lineup in check. Ottawa reliever Ken Dundee was the winner. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Alastair England.
The Nationals were down to their final out when third baseman Hulama Yani turned a full count fastball from Alastair England into a 2-run single. The walk-off single made the Nationals Park crowd go wild.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Yani said.
The win puts the Nationals at 39-45, while the Blues drop to 39-45.
