The Asheville Highlanders stopped the Richland Rails, 4-2, at Rails Ballpark. The Highlanders got a big game from Tae-wan Park, who was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times. The winner was David Fuentes in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Zuo-lin Liang took the loss. Mario Sánchez recorded his 3rd save for Asheville.
Asheville relied on the hitting of Tony Castellanos to pick up the win. The third baseman ripped a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put the Highlanders on top, 2-0. For the game, Castellanos had 1 triple and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
Richland manager Fernando Mendoza said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
Asheville goes to 44-34, Richland to 51-27.
