Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Nationals
|
Nationals Park was the site of a exceptional pitchers' duel.
Ottawa pitcher Luis Pantoja did his part in helping his team beat the Tacoma Fur Traders, 2-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The win was Jesús Torres's in relief. His record improves to 5-4. Vincent Moreau took the loss for Tacoma.
Ottawa won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With two outs and Vincent Moreau on the mound for Tacoma, first baseman Nobuhiko Ohayashi hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Nationals fans to their feet.
Ohayashi told a Ottawa Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
Ottawa now has a 4-game win streak.
