Great Day for Leroy in Atoms Win
|
The Bethesda Atoms beat the Ottawa Nationals, 9-2, at Atoms Field. Bethesda left fielder Brent Leroy earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. At 24-39, Bethesda is in 11th place in the Menard's AA.
Leroy had a key at-bat for Bethesda early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and gave Bethesda an early 2-0 lead.
"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Fernando Gonzáles.
