Behind a solid performance from shortstop Francis Raffone, the Asheville Highlanders defeated the Tacoma Fur Traders, 6-3. Raffone slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Highlanders. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Highlanders.

Raffone put Asheville up, 4-2, when he hit a grand slam home run off Pedro Montáñez in the bottom of the third. His 3rd home run of the season helped the Highlanders capture the win.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Raffone.
