Martin Luther subdued the Barton Springs Blues, 4-0, pitching a 2-hit gem for the Providence Pilgrims at Blues Field.
"He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Providence skipper Micheal Garren said afterward.
Luther registered 3 strikeouts and issued no walks in his superb performance.
"We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Barton Springs manager John Wright after the defeat.
On the season Luther has 2 wins and 8 losses and a 6.26 ERA.
