Biele Goes Wild, But Polar Bears Win
|
Tacoma third baseman Baldwin Biele had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Biele belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice, even as Billings beat the Fur Traders, 10-7. Biele was named the player of the game despite the loss. Billings has now won 6 straight, while the Fur Traders have lost 3 in a row.
Had Sam McConnell not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, McConnell hit a 2-run single. That made the score 9-7, in favor of the Polar Bears.
"Baseball is about momentum," said McConnell, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
