Rails Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Eclipse
|
Northville got a terrific performance from pitcher Pi-ao Tsao, but it wasn't enough to beat the Richland Rails. Richland won the Old-Timers Park contest, 3-2. Tsao was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. The win was Ryan Neal's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Colton Moonfall took the loss for Northville. Muoi Hoan earned the save for Richland, his 12th of the year.
Richland used the timely hitting of Jon Walker to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rails on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.
Walker called the triumph "a good team win."
The Rails bumped their record to 33-21 with this latest triumph.
