Pilgrims Fall Short, 4-3, at Bethesda
|
The Providence Pilgrims got a superb performance from pitcher Phat Tra, but the Bethesda Atoms still won the game, 4-3. Tra was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball. Bethesda reliever Júlio Enríquez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Phat Tra was saddled with the loss. The save went to Jeffery Clayton, his 1st this season.
Mike Marshall drove in one run for Bethesda. The 27-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Phat Tra. It was his 9th RBI of the season.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Marshall told the Bethesda News.
Bethesda now has a 3-game win streak.
