The Battery had to overcome a good performance from Boston pitcher Nicky Bogdan to claim a 5-3 win at Dunkin Donuts Park. Bogdan went 6.2 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. Melvin Tiburcio earned the win to go to 7-5. He allowed 3 earned runs on 8 hits, with 4 walks and 2 strikeouts. Branlyn Jaraba notched his 23rd save in 26 chances.

Charleston used the timely hitting of Joey Coco to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Battery ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Coco.

The Battery' win now puts them at 41-34.
