Men Solve Lake Monsters, 5-2
|
Florida and Vermont duked it out at Monster Field and the Men came out victorious.
The Florida Men got a strong performance from pitcher Roy Bell, who stymied the Vermont offense en route to a 5-2 win at Monster Field. Bell went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. His record improves to 5-10. Amadi Azagba notched his 23rd save in 27 chances.
It could have been a different outcome for Florida, had it not been for Jeff Mouton, the former first round draft pick . Mouton contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the third inning to put Florida up, 3-0.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Bell told the Florida News. "Whatever it takes."
The Men now own a record of 47-55.
