Blues Need Extra Frames to Get Past Fur Traders
|
Barton Springs got a strong outing from José Lucero as the Blues defeated the Tacoma Fur Traders, 4-2, at Ballpark of Tacoma. Barton Springs reliever Francisco Esposo got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Miguel Romero was tagged with the loss. Barton Springs is now 18-19. Tacoma is 16-21.
Barton Springs used the timely hitting of Ben Bullock to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Blues on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It's a mindset," said Lucero. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
