Warriors Prevail, 5-3, Over Scranton
|
Forest City center fielder Spartak Gonjarov was a significant contributor in his team's 5-3 triumph over the Scranton Supernovas. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Forest City. Mamadou Boutin notched his 6th save in 6 chances. Forest City is now 65-33, 12½ games up in the Silver AAA.
Gonjarov contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Forest City in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Gonjarov took a knuckle curve from Artie Best and stroked the home run to left. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Warriors to leap in front, 4-2.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Gonjarov told the Forest City Observer.
