Drummers Come Back Late to Clip Lake Monsters

Tortolita and Vermont duked it out at Monster Field and the Drummers came out victorious.
Askari bin Idris made an impact in the 5-2 Tortolita win over Vermont. bin Idris, who is tied for 9th in the SAAA in runs scored with 56, went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The winner was Briggs Bourgeois in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Alfonso Hadalgo took the loss.
Tortolita used the timely hitting of Jin-yong Myung to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Drummers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"We take it day by day here," said bin Idris, "and today was a good one for us."
The Drummers go to 50-45, putting them 4th in the Silver AAA.
