Vermont got a terrific game from catcher Jeremy Pollock. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Tortolita, 9-7. Pollock was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Will Hoffman was the winner. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 10 hits, with 4 walks and 1 strikeout. The Drummers now have a mark of 49-45.

It could have been a different outcome for Tortolita, had it not been for Armando Chamú, the 36-year old catcher . Chamú contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Tortolita up, 5-4.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Tortolita manager Barrett Abbott.
