Polar Bears Squelch Eclipse Offense in Shutout Win
|
Spirited fans at Old-Timers Park greeted the Northville Eclipse for their clash with the Billings Polar Bears.
Billings right-hander Carlos Flores pitched his team to a shutout win, 4-0, over the Northville Eclipse. Flores, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 3 walks.
Billings took a 4-0 lead on Sam McConnell's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which McConnell hit in the top of the eighth, left Northville pitcher Vasile Alexandrescu visibly frustrated.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Flores.
Billings occupies 5th place in the Menard's AA at 11-11.
