Richland starter Gary Podell pitched effectively against the Barton Springs Blues at Rails Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. Podell got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Podell allowed 2 earned runs. Jose Jovellanos was credited with the save for Richland, his 1st of the season.
