Rails Solve Blues, 3-2
|
Richland Rails starter Masao Myoga pitched a strong game against the Barton Springs Blues at Rails Ballpark, leading the Rails to a 3-2 win. Myoga got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 4 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. Myoga allowed 2 earned runs. Muoi Hoan picked up the save, his 5th.
The Blues had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Rails going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old left fielder Glenn Lockhart came to the plate. Lockhart hit a 3-run home run on a full count fastball from Barton Springs hurler Brian Patterson. It was Lockhart's 4th home run of the year.
"I like our moxie," said Rails manager Fernando Mendoza.
The Blues fall to 5-9 and continue their lackluster start in 2040.
