The Hollywood Shredders picked up a win at The Hollywood Bowl, knocking off the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 6-4. On the mound for Hollywood was right-hander Tony Alfonso, who played a pivotal role in the win. Alfonso got the win, improving to 5-5. He allowed 8 hits and walked 3 over 6.2 innings. Alfonso allowed 4 earned runs. The 8th-place Shredders improved to 32-38.

The Shredders got a gift in the bottom of the fourth inning, when they were leading 4-3. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Baldomero Avino reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It made the score 5-3, Hollywood.

"We played hard and won," said Alfonso. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
