Ohayashi goes 3-for-4, Nationals Move to 5-2
|
The exploits of first baseman Nobuhiko Ohayashi helped the Ottawa Nationals defeat the Bethesda Atoms, 9-2. Ohayashi went 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Jonathan Campbell was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Ottawa is off to a hot start at 5-2.
With Ottawa leading 3-0 in the bottom of the first, Ohayashi hit a cutter from Robert Karabanov for a bases-clearing triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Nationals ahead, 6-0.
