Parker Helps Highlanders Run Win Streak to 3
The Asheville Highlanders beat the Marquette Miners, 12-7, at Asheville Park. The Highlanders got a fine performance from third baseman Don Parker, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Asheville, at 5-1, has sizzled in the early going.

Parker put Asheville up, 10-1, when he hit a 3-run home run off Jerry Cherry in the bottom of the sixth. His 1st home run of the season helped the Highlanders capture the win.

"We maximized our offense today," said Asheville skipper William Franklin. "That makes everyone's life easier."
