The Toledo Stingers got a superb performance from pitcher Jeremy Brody. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Panama City. The Piranhas won the game, 3-1. In spite of the loss, Brody was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings of 1-hit ball. The Stingers, at 51-52, have lost 4 in a row.

Panama City used the timely hitting of Cleveland Kraut to capture the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Piranhas on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Piranhas manager Brian Talamante. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
