Dodgers Get Close Win Over Stingers
The Toledo Stingers and Brooklyn Dodgers provided some drama at Pacesetter Park.

The Brooklyn Dodgers bested the Toledo Stingers, 8-7, at Pacesetter Park. Tony Wonder was named player of the game. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. John Núñes picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Taalay Ibragimov was tagged with the loss. Harrison Tuff earned his 12th save in 13 tries.

Brooklyn needed the clutch hitting of Bill Chaundler to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Dodgers on top, 8-7. For the game, Chaundler had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Toledo manager TJ Reynolds. "But we decided not to take it."

The 5th-place Stingers have dropped 5 straight games.
