Piranhas Bump Off Lakers, 7-3
|
Bruno Williams was instrumental in his team's 7-3 triumph over the Echo Park Lakers. The center fielder went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs for the Panama City Piranhas. Román Mejía was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Panama City is now 29-50. Echo Park is 34-45.
Panama City took a 7-3 lead on Williams's 4th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which he hit off Jeffery Prosser in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Panama City to the win.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Williams told the Panama City Times.
