The 1837 BBC had to overcome a fine performance from Kingston Township pitcher Pete Rhue to grab a 2-1 win at Houston Grounds. Rhue allowed 2 earned runs over 8 innings. Jeffery Meyers notched his 23rd save in 25 chances. The 1837 BBC bumped their record to 43-35 with this latest triumph.
Houston took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With no one out, third baseman Yeow-whye Zhu hit a solo home run that electrified the crowd.
