Rocketeers Get Close Win Over Piranhas
The Panama City Piranhas got a superb performance from pitcher Masahiro Sakei, but the Seattle Rocketeers still won the game, 4-2. Sakei was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball. Seattle reliever Jesse Duncan picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Gunner Cross was saddled with the loss. Dragutin Petrovic was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 13 of 14 save opportunities.

Seattle needed the clutch hitting of Javier Seco to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rocketeers on top, 4-2. For the game, Seco had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Seattle manager Andrew Powell.
