Hood Slugs Divided to 9-1 Win
|
Divided designated hitter Jay Hood put his stamp on his team's 9-1 win over the Kingston Township Knights. Hood slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for D.C. in the contest. D.C., at 39-35, occupies 6th place in the Third League.
With D.C. leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Hood hit a changeup from Ray Goolsby for a 2-run single. It was his 18th hit of the season and put the Divided ahead, 3-0.
In postgame remarks, Hood said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
