Late Rally by Knights Secures Win
|
The Kingston Township Knights topped the Seattle Rocketeers, 9-4, in Menard's Third League action at Cloverdale Legion Park. The player of the game was Kingston Township first baseman Jorge Ozezera. Kingston Township reliever David Blake got the win, raising his record to 4-2. Iván Vázquez was tagged with the loss. The win puts the Knights at 32-36, while the Rocketeers drop to 35-33.
Kingston Township took a 5-4 lead on Ed Mellor's 60th hit of the season. The 2-run single, which Mellor hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Seattle pitcher Min-chor Chon visibly frustrated.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Mellor said. "We did a good job of that today."
