Stingers Prevail, 6-5, Over Seattle
|
The Toledo Stingers beat the Seattle Rocketeers, 6-5, at Pacesetter Park. The win was largely due to the efforts of shortstop Snow Wang, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Ricky Sellers was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. Austin Aries got the save, the 10th for him this season.
Shiki Sanu, who is tied for 5th in the 3L in bases on balls with 35, aided the Toledo cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the second baseman went 1-3 with a walk.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Sanu said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The Stingers move to 26-23 with the win, while the Rocketeers drop to 26-23.
