Dodgers Lose to Coeur, 6-4
|
Fans who gathered at Ebbetts Field saw a good contest between the St. Louis Coeur and Brooklyn Dodgers.
Brooklyn second baseman Takashi Miike was sensational. He went 4 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. St. Louis beat the Dodgers, 6-4. Miike was named the player of the game despite the loss. James Callendar closed it out for his 5th save.
St. Louis relied on the hitting of Tillmam Cru to pick up the win. The left fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Coeur on top, 1-0. For the game, Cru had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Cru said after the game.
St. Louis leads the Third League by 4 games.
