Fog Lose, 8-4, at Psychos Ballpark
|
Jim Halpert made an impact in the 8-4 Florida win over Sunset District. Halpert, who is tied for 4th in the SAAA in bases on balls with 35, went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times. Florida reliever Rhett Abbott was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Aurelio Ortíz took the loss for Sunset District. Florida's record now stands at 30-36, placing them 7th in the Silver AAA.
The Men used some clutch hitting to beat the Fog, a good example being the at-bat of Peter Metellus in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, Metellus gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he hit a bases-clearing double.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Metellus. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
