Alloway got a terrific game from center fielder Ánibal Leobardo. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Calgary, 8-7. Leobardo was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 4-5 with 4 singles. Ricardo Ramírez closed it out for his 2nd save. Calgary is now 28-34.

The result might have been different for Calgary, had it not been for Jeff Hershberger, the 24-year old left fielder . Hershberger stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Calgary up, 8-7. For the game, he had 2 doubles and 1 single in 6 at-bats.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Alloway manager Jack Clayton. "But we decided not to take it."
