The Hialeah Dodos defeated the Scranton Supernovas, 5-3, in USSL Triple A action at Nuclear Stadium, with Hialeah pitcher Manuel Ruíz named player of the game. The winning pitcher was Ruíz, now 2-3. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 4. Kenneth Ferrell recorded his 5th save for Hialeah.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the sixth inning. Facing Scranton hurler NaNomi Lojore, Tae-gyoon Ch'oe drew a walk. The Dodos went on to win.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Ruíz.
The Dodos, at 21-37, sit in last place in the Silver AAA.
