Drummers Win at Florida, 6-1
|
The Tortolita Drummers got a stellar performance from pitcher Roy Alsobrook, who handcuffed the Florida offense en route to a 6-1 win at Psychos Ballpark. Alsobrook, the winner, moves to 3-0. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 1 walk. The Drummers raised their record to 30-26.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the second inning. That's when third baseman Tomás Costello, who is tied for 8th in the SAAA in bases on balls with 27, hit a single. The Drummers went on to win.
"I thought we played a nice game," Alsobrook told the Tortolita Chronicle. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
