Charleston catcher Doug Allerdale had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 10-8 win over the Portland Evergreens. The 4th-place Battery now have a 4-game winning streak.

Allerdale had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the 11th. On a 1-1 sinker from Brewster Warble, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Battery a 10-8 lead. It was the 16th home run of the year for Allerdale.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Allerdale told the Charleston Observer. "It's as simple as that."
