The Vermont Lake Monsters defeated the Tortolita Drummers, 9-4, at Monster Field today. Leading the charge for Vermont was first baseman Dragoljub Kandic. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Vermont reliever Carlos González was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Scott Thompson. Vermont has now won 3 straight, while the Drummers have lost 3 in a row.
Álex Chávez put Vermont in front, 4-3, when he hit a 3-run home run off Scott Thompson in the bottom of the third. It was his 2nd home run of the season.
