Win Streak Now at 8 for Redbirds
|
Memphis pitcher Dan Stokes did his part in helping his team beat the Hialeah Dodos, 9-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Stokes, now 3-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 4, walking 5, and allowing no earned runs. The Redbirds have now won 8 straight.
In the bottom of the first, Dan James hit a run-scoring single for Memphis. The 17th hit of the season for the Memphis designated hitter put the Redbirds on top, 1-0.
"I like our mindset right now," said Memphis manager Elliott Taylor.
