Men Get Road Win, 6-4
|
The Florida Men picked up a win at Monster Field, knocking off the Vermont Lake Monsters, 6-4. On the mound for Florida was left-hander John Penton, who played a pivotal role in the win. Florida bumps their record to 17-12 with the win.
Florida used the timely hitting of Silvio Capitanio to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Men ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Penton said.
