Avilés Goes Off, But Drummers Win
Despite a fine performance by first baseman Marcos Avilés, the Sunset District Fog suffered a 13-12 loss to the Tortolita Drummers. Avilés went 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and 3 walks. He scored 4 times and drove in 2. Kabeya Kasongo earned the save, his 5th, for the Drummers. Tortolita has run its win streak to 4 in a row.

Tortolita used the timely hitting of Armando Chamú to capture the win. The catcher socked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Drummers ahead, 13-12. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Chamú told the Tortolita Chronicle.
