Behind a solid performance from shortstop Sadakuno Hashimoto, the Hialeah Dodos defeated the Vermont Lake Monsters, 8-6. Hashimoto went 2 for 2 with a double and 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs for the Dodos. Hialeah reliever Kenneth Ferrell picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-1. Ezra Peterson was collared with the loss. Their 11-16 record puts the Dodos 9th in the Silver AAA.

Hashimoto had a game-changing single in the bottom of the eighth. On a 3-1 cutter from Ezra Peterson, he banged a run-scoring single to left, giving the Dodos a 7-6 lead. It was the 25th hit of the year for Hashimoto.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Hashimoto told the Hialeah Citizen. "It's as simple as that."
